Peppermint Delights

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 c. Flour, sifted
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1 c. Butter or Shortening, softened
- 3/4 c. Granulated Sugar
- 3/4 c. Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 tsp. M-K Peppermint True Extract
- 1/2 tsp. Water
- 2 Eggs
- 1 (12-oz.) pkg. Chocolate Morsels
- 1 c. Nuts, coarsely chopped (like walnuts or pecans)
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a cookie sheet.
- In a medium-sized bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer or by hand, cream together the softened butter (or shortening), granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Stir in the M-K Peppermint True Extract and water.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually mix in the sifted dry ingredients until the mixture is well combined.
- Fold in the chocolate morsels and chopped nuts.
- Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded half-teaspoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared cookie sheet, leaving space between each to allow for spreading.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the cookie sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
