Criss Cross Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 c. Shortening
  • 1 c. Granulated Sugar
  • 1 c. Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. M-K Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 c. All Purpose Flour, sifted
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. Peanut Butter
  • 2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 dash Salt

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and M-K Pure Vanilla Extract until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the peanut butter until well combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  7. Take small portions of the dough and roll them into tiny balls. Place them on an ungreased cookie sheet, ensuring there’s enough space between each ball.
  8. Using the back of a fork, gently press down on each ball of dough, creating a crisscross pattern.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Be cautious not to overbake, as you want them to remain soft in the middle.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes
