Cinnamon Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Soft Shortening (part butter)
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 c. Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. M-K Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 c. Flour, sifted
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • Additional mixture for sprinkling: 1/4 c. sugar and 1 tsp. M-K Ground Cinnamon

Directions

  1. Mix the shortening, sugar, and egg thoroughly.
  2. Stir in the buttermilk and M-K Pure Vanilla Extract.
  3. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to the batter, mixing well.
  4. Chill the dough.
  5. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough, spaced about 2 inches apart, onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
  6. Sprinkle each cookie with the sugar and M-K Ground Cinnamon mixture.
  7. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not browned.
  8. Yields about 4 dozen cookies.
