Fruit Petal Pie

Ingredients

  • 21 oz can Fruit Pie Filling (your choice of fruit, though cherries or apples are popular options)
  • 2 T. Margarine
  • 1/8 tsp. M-K Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. M-K Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 10 slices Slice and Bake Cookie Dough (Cinnamon Sugar Flavor)
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Directions

  1. Preparation: Start by preheating your oven to 350°.
  2. Mix and Simmer: In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the fruit pie filling, margarine, M-K Ground Cinnamon, and M-K Pure Vanilla Extract. Cook the mixture over medium heat until it becomes bubbly. This will allow the flavors to blend beautifully.
  3. Assemble: Once the fruit mixture is ready, pour it into a 9-inch pie plate.
  4. Cookie Crust: Now, it’s time for the fun part! Take your slices of Cinnamon Sugar Cookie Dough and overlap them by about 1/4 inch around the edge of the pie plate. This will create a unique and flavorful crust that’s a delicious departure from the norm.
  5. Baking: Place your assembled pie in the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes. The edges of the cookie slices should turn golden brown, signifying that your pie is done.
  6. Serving: Allow the pie to cool slightly for a few minutes. Then, serve warm, ensuring each serving is paired with a generous scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream.
