  2. Evenly coat the beef cubes with this flour mixture.
  3. In a pan, heat the butter or shortening, then quickly brown the beef cubes on all sides.
  4. Stir in the tomato puree followed by the beef stock.
  5. Cover and let it simmer in a 325° preheated oven for about 2-1/2 hours or until the beef becomes tender. If desired, for a variation, add sour cream to the sauce and serve over buttered noodles sprinkled with M-K Poppy Seed.
