Chili Con Carne

Ingredients

  • 12 lb. Lean Beef
  • 12 c. Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 c. Shortening
  • 1 No. 10 can Tomatoes
  • 3 qt. Water
  • 3 T. Salt
  • 1 1/2 c. M-K Chili Powder

Directions

  1. Coarsely chop or grind the beef.
  2. In a large pan, melt the shortening and then add the meat and finely chopped onion.
  3. Cover the pan and cook the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully cooked.
  4. Mash or blend the tomatoes until smooth and then incorporate them into the cooked meat mixture.
  5. Add in the water, salt, and M-K Chili Powder, stirring well.
  6. Let the mixture simmer, stirring occasionally, until the flavors meld and it is thoroughly heated.
