Cookie Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1 1/2 c. Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 2 c. Flour
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 tsp. MK Apple Pie Spice
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 c. Milk
- 1 c. Nuts, chopped (choose between walnuts, pecans, or your favorite)
- 1 c. Raisins
- 1 c. Apples, unpared and finely chopped
Glaze Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. Milk
- 1 dash Salt
- 1/4 tsp. M-K Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp. Butter or Margarine melted
Cookie Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C).
- Cream together shortening, brown sugar, and egg in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, MK Apple Pie Spice, and salt.
- Gradually add half of the dry ingredient mixture into the creamed mixture.
- Blend in the milk.
- Gradually mix in the remaining dry ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in the chopped nuts, raisins, and apples.
- Drop the cookie dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Glaze Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine powdered sugar, milk, salt, M-K Pure Vanilla Extract, and melted butter.
- Whisk until smooth and creamy. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more milk, a teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is achieved.
- Once the cookies have cooled completely, spread or drizzle the vanilla glaze over each one.
