Cake Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 2 c. Sugar
- 1 lg. Egg
- 1 1/2 c. Applesauce
- 2 1/2 c. Flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 tsp. M-K Ground Allspice
- 3/4 tsp. M-K Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. M-K Ground Nutmeg
- 1/2 c. Water
Topping Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Flour
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1/4 c. Margarine
- 1/2 tsp. M-K Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. M-K Granulated Black Pepper
Cake Directions
- Combine apple slices, flour, M-K Apple Pie Spice, M-K Pure Vanilla Extract, sugar, and salt.
- Transfer the mixture to a pie shell.
- Complete the assembly with the top pie crust.
- Bake at 400°F for around 50 minutes.
- Allow the pie a brief cooling period before serving.
