Mocha Drops
Mocha Drops are delightful coffee-infused treats with a hint of molasses and a bouquet of warm spices. Mocha Drop Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/2 c. Molasses
- 2 1/4 c. Flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. Soda
- 3 tsp. M-K Ground Ginger
- 1 tsp. M-K Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. M-K Ground Cloves
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1/3 c. Hot Strong Coffee
Vanilla Glaze Ingredients
- 2 c. Confectioners Sugar
- 1 tsp. M-K Pure Vanilla Extract
- Milk
Mocha Drop Directions
- Cream the shortening and sugar together.
- Beat in the egg and stir in the molasses.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the dry ingredients.
- Gradually alternate adding the sifted dry ingredients and coffee to the creamed mixture, ensuring it’s mixed thoroughly.
- Drop the dough by teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow the cookies to cool on a cooling rack.
M-K Vanilla Glaze Directions
- In a bowl, combine confectioners sugar and M-K Pure Vanilla Extract.
- Gradually add milk until you achieve a spreadable consistency.
- Once the Mocha Drops have cooled, spread the glaze over each cookie and top with a walnut half.
