Ingredients

  • 1/4 Onion, finely chopped
  • 5 Jalapeño Peppers (adjust according to heat preference)
  • 1 tsp. Lime Juice
  • 1 (16-oz.) can Stewed Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. M-K Ground Cumin
  • 1/4 c. Cilantro, minced (if available)

Directions

  1. Before starting, ensure you wear gloves while handling jalapeños to avoid any irritation. If you prefer a milder salsa, you can remove the seeds and membrane from the jalapeños.
  2. Place the onion and jalapeño peppers into a blender or food processor. Process them until they are finely minced.
  3. To the mixture, add the stewed tomatoes, lime juice, M-K Ground Cumin, and cilantro. Blend until all the ingredients are well combined, but still slightly chunky.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasonings if necessary. If you’d like a little more heat, consider adding more jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper. If you prefer a more tangy flavor, squeeze in a bit more lime juice.
  5. Transfer the salsa to a bowl and let it sit for at least an hour in the refrigerator. This allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
  6. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, tacos, burritos, or any dish of your choice. Enjoy your homemade salsa, bursting with fresh and vibrant flavors!

Note: This salsa can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Remember, the heat of jalapeños can vary, so always adjust according to your heat tolerance. If cilantro isn’t to your liking or isn’t available, it can be omitted or replaced with fresh parsley for a different twist.
