Ingredients

  • 1 c. Raisins
  • 1 c. Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Shortening
  • 1 c. Boiling Water
  • 1 c. White Syrup
  • 3 c. Flour
  • 1 tsp. M-K Ground Ginger
  • 1 tsp. M-K Saigon Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine raisins, brown sugar, shortening, white syrup, and boiling water.
  2. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, M-K Ground Ginger, and M-K Saigon Cinnamon.
  3. Blend the sifted dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased and lightly floured 9 X 13 cake pan.
  5. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
