Ingredients
- 1 c. Raisins
- 1 c. Brown Sugar
- 1/2 c. Shortening
- 1 c. Boiling Water
- 1 c. White Syrup
- 3 c. Flour
- 1 tsp. M-K Ground Ginger
- 1 tsp. M-K Saigon Cinnamon
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine raisins, brown sugar, shortening, white syrup, and boiling water.
- Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, M-K Ground Ginger, and M-K Saigon Cinnamon.
- Blend the sifted dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Pour the batter into a greased and lightly floured 9 X 13 cake pan.
- Bake at 350° for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
