Canadian Cheese Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 T. Onion, finely chopped
  • 1/3 c. Carrots, shredded
  • 1/3 c. Celery, finely diced
  • 1 c. Water
  • 1 tsp. Chicken Bouillon (or 1 cube)
  • 1/4 c. Butter or Margarine
  • 1/4 c. Flour
  • 3 c. Milk
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. M-K Ground White Pepper
  • 2 c. Cheese, shredded
  • M-K Paprika, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, combine onion, carrots, celery, water, bouillon, and butter. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, milk, salt, and M-K Ground White Pepper.
  3. Slowly pour the milk mixture into the vegetable mixture while stirring.
  4. Continue cooking and stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add shredded cheese to the saucepan and stir until the cheese is completely melted.
  6. Serve the soup in bowls or mugs. Garnish with a sprinkle of M-K Paprika.
