Ingredients

  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 c. Sour Cream
  • 2 c. Flour
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 3/4 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 4 c. Apples, sliced thin
  • 2/3 c. Sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. M-K Ground Cinnamon
  • A dash of M-K Ground Nutmeg
  • A dash of Salt
  • Soft Butter (for spreading)

Ingredients for Sauce

  • 1/2 c. White Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Brown Sugar
  • 2 T. Cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 T. Butter
  • 1 c. Hot Water

Directions

  1. Beat the egg and sour cream together in a bowl.
  2. Stir in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt to form a dough.
  3. Roll the dough out on a floured board into an oblong piece about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Spread the dough lightly with soft butter.
  5. Cover half of the dough with sliced apples mixed with sugar, M-K Ground Cinnamon, a dash of M-K Ground Nutmeg, and a dash of salt.
  6. Roll up the dough like a jelly roll and cut it into 1-inch slices.
  7. Place the slices in a baking dish.

Directions for the Sauce

  1. In a separate saucepan, combine white sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, butter, and hot water.
  2. Pour the sauce over the dumplings in the baking dish.
