9 1/2 c. Flour, sifted
1/4 c. Baking Powder
1 T. Salt
6 c. Sugar
2 1/3 c. Shortening

Stir flour, baking powder, salt and sugar to blend. Sift three times. Cut in the shortening with pastry blender or electric mixer, or work it in with the finger tips until quite uniformly blended. Store in covered container at room temperature. This recipe makes approximately 16 cups of mix, which will keep three months without refrigeration. TO MEASURE MIX: Pile it lightly into cup and level off with a spatula.
