Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. Flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 c. Butter or Shortening, softened
  • 3/4 c. Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 c. Brown Sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp. M-K Peppermint True Extract
  • 1/2 tsp. Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 (12-oz.) pkg. Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 c. Nuts, coarsely chopped (like walnuts or pecans)

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a cookie sheet.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer or by hand, cream together the softened butter (or shortening), granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Stir in the M-K Peppermint True Extract and water.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Gradually mix in the sifted dry ingredients until the mixture is well combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate morsels and chopped nuts.
  8. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded half-teaspoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared cookie sheet, leaving space between each to allow for spreading.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the cookie sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
