Mint Cream Cheese Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 (3-oz.) package Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp. M-K Peppermint True Extract
  • 2 to 2 1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
  • Sugar for rolling
  • Optional: Food coloring of your choice

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend together the softened cream cheese and M-K Peppermint True Extract until well combined.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture, incorporating it slowly. Continue to add the powdered sugar and knead the mixture until it reaches a consistency that’s pliable and no longer sticky.
  3. If you’re using food coloring, divide the dough into four equal portions. Knead your chosen colors into each portion until the color is uniformly distributed.
  4. Roll the colored dough into small balls, roughly 3/4 inch in diameter.
  5. Roll each ball in sugar to coat them evenly.
  6. Using a fork, gently press down on each sugar-coated ball to flatten them slightly, creating a textured pattern.
  7. Let the mints dry at room temperature. This will help them firm up and take on a slightly crusty exterior while remaining soft inside.
  8. Once dried, store the mints in a loosely covered container and keep them in the refrigerator.
